Community initiative helps keep children warm during the winter months.
[Tallahassee, Fla.] – Envision Credit Union (Envision) is excited to announce the launch of this year’s Coats for Kids initiative, a community-driven campaign providing winter coats to children in Jackson, Gadsden, Leon, Thomas, and Decatur counties. Beginning Wednesday, October 23, Envision invites community members to join them in dropping off new coats of any size at a branch location, or in a donation box at participating public library partners. The campaign will end on Friday, November 15 and all coats will be distributed to local schools the week before Thanksgiving.
"Envision Credit Union was established 70 years ago by visionary educators who understood the power of giving back to our communities," said Kelli Walter, Vice President of Community Development at Envision Credit Union. "Even in the South, winter can bring harsh, freezing temperatures, and for some families, a warm coat is an expense they simply can't prioritize. Our annual ‘Coats for Kids’ campaign embodies the values our founders held dear. Each year, we proudly unite the community to ensure no child is left without the essential protection they need during the cold months."
Since 2022, Envision has provided hundreds of coats to children in need through Coats for Kids. Community members who wish to participate in this year’s initiative are encouraged to drop new coats at one of the following locations throughout the region: in a donation box at any Envision Credit Union branch, or at one of the following community partners throughout the region:
