With only a few weeks of school left and testing complete, we can make May about regaining the spark of curiosity that sometimes gets lost in the fatigue. We can do that novel unit we love. We can take our students on that field trip to see the architecture we’ve been studying. We can watch and discuss that documentary that perfectly illustrates the relationships we’ve been struggling to help them understand. We can teach them to balance a checking account just because its important.
In the final sprint to the finish line, I don’t want to lose the joy of my job. I’ve spent the last ten months getting to know and love my students. We’ve struggled, we’ve failed, we’ve triumphed…all of it together. As we approach the end of our year, we should take the time to rejoice. We are almost there, let’s finish with style.
